Initial Thoughts
Upon first reading the Hempland USA site, we were struck by some very positive features that jumped out at us. The company has been in business since 2014, which makes it an early and long-lasting entrant in the CBD marketplace. The founder had already spent many years in the supplement business, and he recognized the CBD potential early. The company prominently displays lab test results, both through a page on the site and by QR code on the bottle. They also tout their ECS5TM, a blend of 5 botanicals (clove, black pepper, rosemary, hops, and jujube). Hempland USA claims that ECS5TM interacts more effectively with the EndoCannabinoid System that we all have, and which helps to regulate many of the body’s functions. We were intrigued.
Taste (7.5 out of 10)
This oil reminded us of our recent review of Irwin Naturals’ unflavored oil. As we said in that review: “Our review team had mixed reactions to the taste of this oil, but in the end we agreed that it’s a relatively pleasant tasting oil”. We appreciate Hempland USA embracing the natural flavor (read: grassy) of hemp and not trying to mask it too much. They do add a bit of peppermint oil, which perks up the strong flavor of the hemp, pepper, etc. If you like the natural taste of hemp, you’ll find this to be a good choice.
Delivery (8.2 out of 10)
Hempland USA uses a standard dropper for their oil delivery method. Our repeat readers know that we are not wild about droppers, but we recognize that it is pretty standard, and our score here reflects that. The dropper is imprinted with volume markings to help in gauging the desired dose, which we like to see, and this bumped the score a bit. The oil itself is a slightly dark amber, smooth but strong, as you might expect from a 2000 mg oil.
Potency (9.0 out of 10)
At 2000mg per 30ml, this product delivers a powerful punch. A full dropper (about 1 ml) will deliver 66.7 mg of the CBD with ECS5 TM. That’s a high dosage for a lot of us, perhaps more than most people need unless they are dealing with a severe ailment. What this means is that most of us can use less than a full dropper, and the 2000 mg in this bottle will last for a long time. Effect (8.7 out of 10)
At 2000 mg, this oil lands in the high range of most CBD products we see. Perhaps it’s the strength, or perhaps it’s the ECS5 TM, but we noticed the effect of this oil quickly. We felt a lightness of mood and a physical well-being. We’ll make an assumption here and state that we think they have a winning combo in their ECS5 TM blend. Whatever it is, we felt the calming effect, sound sleep, and good mood that we want from a quality CBD product.
Price (8.5 out of 10)
At the time of this review, the 2000 mg Cannabitol ECS5 TM oil is priced at $149.95. This puts it at a very reasonable 7.5 cents per milligram of CBD. We normally expect a range of 5 to 15 cents per milligram, and the quality and effectiveness of this oil at 7.5 cents makes it a super value that we would not hesitate to recommend. Hempland USA offers volume discounts (10% off when you buy 2, 20% for 4, 30% for 6) so the value can get even better, That’s hard to beat.
