HempFusion CBD 100 mg Sleep Capsules

HempFusion CBD capsules

Initial Thoughts

We turned up several interesting things to talk about when we started this HempFusion CBD capsule review. First, it was immediately clear that this is a company committed to healthy products and consumer education. The second thing we noticed was a whole lot of initials and abbreviations. We saw cGMP, NOAEL, GRAS, ISO-9001, WFHC, and more! So what do they mean? It turns out that they mean a lot of good things going on. Take a look:

Taste (10.0 out of 10)

There isn’t a lot to say about the taste of a softgel capsule, because there is none! We give capsules like this a 10 out of 10 score for taste.
The great thing about this lack of taste is the fact that you can take these Full Spectrum soft gels without getting an aftertaste. If you are one who finds the grassy taste of hemp unpleasant, capsules are a great alternative.

Delivery (8.5 out of 10)

When it comes to delivery, the capsules are medium-sized and therefore getting them down is easy. As noted above, there is no taste to complicate your use and enjoyment. Each capsule contains 25 mg of CBD, so your dosage is measured for you – no need to guesstimate the amount in a dropper.

Potency (9.0 out of 10)

We typically talk about potency in terms of the CBD content, but HempFusion takes a different tack. In keeping with the Whole Food concept involving the entire hemp plant, this capsule is measured in milligrams of hemp extract. In other words, HempFusion considers CBD and all the other cannabinoids and terpenes to be acting together. These capsules are marked at 100 mg of hemp extract each. This amount goes way beyond what we typically see in capsules. We are used to capsules containing 15 to 30 mg of CBD. As you might expect, this concentrated capsule lands a whole hemp punch.

Effect (9.0 out of 10)

Well, it turns out that the 100 mg punch described above was absolutely as effective as we suspected it might be. For us, the formula of the Sleep capsules has the right mix to deliver on the promise. The team in general reported restful, uninterrupted nights. This reviewer in particular was impressed. Being a gentleman of a certain age along with chronic back pain has resulted in many fitful nights. Not with the HempFusion Sleep capsules! This one is a keeper.

Price (9.5 out of 10)

We’ve already determined that this oil is good quality, but is it worth the cost? CBD oils can be outrageously expensive. It turns out that  the Pure Balance Hemp Extract Tincture is hard to beat. Usually, you could buy this tincture for $124.95, or 4.2 cents per milligram, which is great. Recently, the price dropped to $84.47, or a bafflingly low 2.9 cents/milligram.  This is an unbeatable price for an oil of this quality, and is undoubtedly one of the best deals we’ve encountered. Lucky for PHB customers, it’s a consistent feature across all Pure Hemp Botanicals CBD oil products.

About the brand

Company Information

The co-founder and current CEO is a naturopathic doctor with more than 20 years of natural supplement development. Others with medical and natural supplement experience are found on staff and on the board of directors.

cGMP stands for “current Good Manufacturing Practice”. It is a set of FDA regulations that are meant to assure proper design, monitoring, and control of manufacturing processes and facilities.

NOAEL is the abbreviation for “no observed adverse effect level”. Basically, it tells you that the product is subjected to risk-assessment and has been laboratory observed to look for adverse side effects.

GRAS is an FDA abbreviation for “generally recognized as safe” and confirms that qualified experts have determined that the product is safe for human consumption.

ISO-9001 is an international standard that confirms a company maintains a consistent quality management system.

Clearly, HempFusion is willing and committed to having its products evaluated and held to high quality standards.

Here’s one more abbreviation, and it’s specific to HempFusion and its products:

WFHC stands for Whole Food Hemp Complex. It is HempFusion’s way of referring to the manner in which it delivers the entourage effect. It means using all beneficial parts of the hemp plant, extracted by its One-Pass extraction process. All of the above information points to HempFusion as a company based on solid experience and committed to quality that can be tested and confirmed. The entourage effect is an important feature of all its products. Commitment to consumers, the planet, and charitable causes is an important feature of the HempFusion culture. All of these points are capped off by the U.S. Hemp Authority™ quality certification. It’s a good indicator of a solid company, and we were eager to do a HempFusion CBD capsule review.

A caring company

We also like to see caring, socially responsible companies. In this regard, HempFusion goes way beyond the basic concept, partnering and helping numerous charities and organizations.

Supported causes include:

  • Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services
  • B-Rad Foundation
  • Operation Surf
  • Warrior’s Ascent
  • Autism Hope Alliance

If testimonials increase your confidence, check out the long list of professional athletes lending support on the HempFusion website. They believe in the effectiveness of the products and the mission of the company.

Product Line

HempFusion offers a good selection of products. Tinctures are available in four potencies. Capsules are also offered in several potencies, and in formulations designed to address specific needs. Topicals include balms, creams, and gels, with specific choices to address pain, eczema, and acne.

All HempFusion products are broad spectrum. This tells you that all the beneficial compounds and terpenes of the hemp plant are present, with the exception of THC.

HempFusion begins with DNA validated European Agricultural hemp. The growing soil is verified to be free of pesticides, herbicides, and GMOs. Solvent-free CO2 extraction is used for the hemp extract creation, which is a safe, preferred method. HempFusion cites the use of a proprietary process that it calls the HOPE process (HempOnePassExtraction™). We do not know the details, but HempFusion claims it produces a more diverse and better quality hemp extract.

Some of its products contain additional ingredients. HempFusion declares that “all other botanicals used in our formulations are properly tested to make sure they are free of residual solvents and other potential contaminants”. Final stages of production take place in the ISO certified manufacturing facility. Finally, all products are laboratory tested in an ISO certified independent third party lab.

CBD users like assurance about the products they buy, and we insist on it for products that we review. HempFusion makes it easy to confirm the contents of its products. There is a QR code on every package that opens the lab results for that product. The website also has an accessible location to enter the product’s lot number and get the test results.

What are the sleeping capsules?

OK, the stage is set, and the subject of this review is the 100 mg Sleep Support Capsules. We all need good, restful sleep, and HempFusion offers these capsules to help. The foundation of the help is a combination of the Whole Food Hemp Complex (WFHC) and GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid).

HempFusion’s WFHC refers to the entourage effect; the beneficial effect of all parts of the hemp plant working harmoniously together.GABA is growing in popularity for its potential calming effects. It’s an amino acid that tends to block certain brain signals, which may decrease activity in your nervous system and promote sleep. Black pepper extract, clove oil, and hemp seed oil round out the mix, adding terpenes and fatty acids. The black pepper extract is said to speed absorption into the system. This combination seemed promising, and we were eager to dive into this HempFusion CBD capsule review.
